The City of Clovis turned 100 years old on February 27th, 2012. A century of life is always seen as a triumphant accomplishment, celebrated with a birthday cake large enough to hold 100 candles and perhaps a short write-up in the local newspaper. But as Clovis reached its centennial, we started doing much more.
We felt that since Clovis has been so good to us these past 100 years, we ought to show our
appreciation; and what better way than to throw a birthday party? One that lasts over a year,
and one where everyone is invited. A group of city leaders and community-spirited individuals formed a Centennial Committee that has been hard at work in planning the series of
events that will continue to commemorate our city’s success.
This centennial website will act as our way to keep you, the citizens of Clovis, fully involved in your city’s birthday celebration. You can use this website to stay updated on upcoming events planned throughout the city. Browse the annals of Clovis’ rich history starting with its inception as a small Western town. Share your timeless memories of growing up, and learn what your fellow Clovis citizens (Clovisites? Clovisidians?) remember about the good ol’ days.
